My Goals for Strafford County
Financial Accountability
Clear, consistent financial reporting. Review spending, contracts, purchasing and grants. Know what we own, owe, spend and receive and make that information understandable to taxpayers.
Strong Sustainable County Services
Understand the needs, costs and future of Riverside Rest Home, The House of Corrections, Sheriff Office, Dispatch, Registry of Deeds, County Attorney Office and other county services.
Plan Before We Spend
Strengthen capital planning for county property and facilities. Identify the needs, costs, funding sources and long term operating impacts before major commitments are made.
Think Beyond the Next Budget
Develop a practical 24 month, 5 year and ten year county plan addressing facilities, services, our aging population, public safety, human services and long range county needs.
Transparency and Community Voices
Improve agendas, departmental reporting and public project information. Regularly listen to residents and municipal officials throughout the communities I represent, not just during budget or election season. My promise is to be in contact with each of the municipalities in District 1 from day 1 and to meet with you.
I also am committed to working diligently with the county delegation, sub committees and to involve the general public voice whenever possible.
My Approach
Listen, Learn, Plan, Prioritize, Measure, Report
My 30-60-90 day plan is designed to start putting these goals into action from Day 1.
Know what we own.
Know what we owe.
Know what we spend.
Know what we receive.
Make sure the public understands it as well.
